The weather was completely miserable - grey and rainy which didn't help, but I did go with two people from work so it was at least an entertaining drive.
I have to say that it wasn't particularly interesting - maybe because it was the very last day and some stands were already packing up, there were a rather limited number of freebies which was also disappointing. Only two stands had hot chicks - although they all looked like rather grumpy Russian women in either Lycra hotpants or short leather skirts respectively. As a plus one lot of them were giving out mints, smiles though were extra everywhere. I guess if you've been standing in a hall full of (IT) men for a week I probably wouldn't be smiling any more either.
Only managed to win one prize - classical music CDs, did see a couple of cool robots serving drinks and we managed to find our works pamphlet at a combined stand there - thoroughly drowning in a flood of information. The did have a lot of cool gadgets - mainly mini-laptops. But they weren't giving them away and most stands weren't even selling anything. I guess that's why it's a trade show.
Still I can say I've been and that I shan't be making the trip again ;-)
Most impressive the wooden hall that was built for the World Expo some years ago, my work colleagues refused to pose for a photo so you get their backs - left Julia, right Dirk:
I didn't think you'd have a problem with Russian girls in Lycra or Leather.
ReplyDeleteI never said I had a problem with it - the grumpy part was the bad bit ;)
