I did the built in wardrobe in the office / study / Polina's room first as I would then be able to fill it with all sorts of stuff (everything that came out of the corner where it is to go, and more) and get some access to that room again.
Before - In between - After:
We're still waiting for the mirrored sliding doors to arrive, should be about another 5 weeks so just after we get back from Greece. Then all the stuff will all be out of sight, and hopefully the room will feel a bit bigger too.
My assistant, he hasn't been scared of any of the power tools, though I do pack him away into the bedroom before I do any really loud stuff - can't be good for his sensitive ears otherwise and the only thing he likes to do with earplugs is chase them on the floor...
One of the parts of the lounge room, drilling the holes for the dowels to make the joins. I'm still debating reinforcing these with angles but so far it seems pretty sturdy glued and dowelled.
Setting up, drilled, test assembly:
Gluing, gluing, done - well I still need to make 4 drawers to go in it but that's for later:
All of the parts of the lounge room are being made out of Accaia (also known as wattle).
