Carn the green and gold

So we went to the game (well not the actual game of course) but a live telecast thereof in an Irish pub in Berlin. We'd been there for the previous Aussie game, but that time there weren't many folks there. This time was different - the place was packed with Aussies who had pinned flags all over the walls and spilled beer all over the halls. We chanted such classics as "Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi" and "Change the channnnnel" (for when the nuffers put on the Brazil game - who wants to see that sh1t eh?).
The crowd was awesome and loud about 120 Aussies one Croat and a couple of Americans fresh from taking up the butty c/o Ghanna :-)
There were more people in this pub than I have ever seen/been defened by signing the national anthem (without help and with the right words) than I have previously ever seen in one place. They even sang it twice! We also got in a few rounds of "Come on Aussie come on" as well as a good bash at "Waltzing Matilda" and other sporting favourites (like "break the bastards legs" or "where are your fn eyes" -in reference to the umpire).
While the umpiring was at an all time low - managing to give three yellow cards to one of the Croats we got the result we needed and now face up to Italy on Mon 24th 17:00 local (about 01:00 AEST).
On the way home from the pub we lost our voices on some remaining chanting - the best bit is we walked past a couple of Germans giving it a bit of Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi and after we finished they said "can you believe that was only two of them".

Maybe tomorrow I will be able to talk again but who cares - it was worth it!

Carn the green and gold!
