Little update

Well there isn't much to report... Jack has been sick in bed/couch for the last two weeks with a virus and then something bacterial and last Sunday I managed to catch it, too. I was hanging in there for almost a week, very proud of myself, but my immune system eventually gave in and I spent this week also in bed. We're both finally feeling better and hopefully will be able to get out and about in the next couple of days.

It hasn't all been totally unproductive though - I managed to watch every single episode of Desperate Housewives starting from season 2 and also did some work on my Bachelorarbeit. The final draft is due this Thursday and after that I just have to submit the whole thing to my student office at uni and wait for my mark... which hopefully will be a good one *fingers crossed* This week I did manage to make it to my first appointment with a midwife, who will come around after birth to make sure that everything is working out well with the baby and breastfeeding. She was nice and I'm planning to get her to do a course of acupuncture pre-birth, which in theory should shorten labour. The best thing is that she'll come over to my place and do it here, so I don't even have to go anywhere.

Other than that we've had our first instalment of birth preparation classes. Well the second one we missed this week because of the colds. So far it seems to be OK. It's taking place at the 'parent school' at the Urban hospital where we're planning to go for labour. There are three other couples with us and the course is very relaxed and, truth be told, a little boring for me. Mainly because I probably read a lot (too much?) already and many things come across as old news. But it's nice to focus on the big day anyway and some of the tips have been helpful... mainly all the things related to Jack massaging my back and making me feel more comfortable :)

32 weeks and 1 day!

  1. Poor sick bunnies.. I hope both of you feel better.

I really didn't want to be touched during labour (the massaging just seem to distract me from being in labour and therefore made the pain more noticable) so poor Clive had nothing to do.
