The year that was... 2007 in review

Well it's taken me ages to get this post up, but in my defence I've been a little busy with work stretching into overtime and some night shift in our little building site. None the less here we go:

2007 was a pretty crazy year...

• We saw in 2007 in London
• Celebrated my mum's 60th in Oldenburg with "The Family"
• We spent 5 wonderful days in Rome
• Enjoyed Riga even though it was cold and wet
• Had two glorious hot summery weeks in Greece, Athens and Santorini
• Saw some more of Berlin
• Went to the Sächsische Schweiz and did some wandering into the Czech Republic
• Went to London again for Witchy's birthday, managed a touch of Shakespeare in The Globe too
  
• We had a fantastic summery time in Spain, Madrid and Barcelona
  
• It was warm and amazing in Venice, too many tourists though ;-)
• We caught up with my aunt the nun in Marburg while we were down for Philipp and Li's nuptiuals
• Witchy and Matt from London helped us get Steined at Oktoberfest, there was also a mostly accidental visit to Austria
• We did St. Petersburg more than it did us for Denya and Vika's wedding
• Vilnus was pretty good to us too
• We made it to my cousins wedding in Dresden

• I had a haircut, haven't had another one since so it's back to where we started almost...
  
• Celebrated our One Year of being in Berlin
• Polina got a Job
• Saw a disappointing Marilyn Manson concert, but Ooomph were good
  
• Had our 3.5 years wedding anniversary, not to mention the 4 years as well ;-)
• Killed the vacuum cleaner
• Had a warm winter with late snow and a cold wet summer with a hot spring *sigh*
  
• Had huge nasty hail and lightning and a cyclone
• We started rock climbing
• Almost bought an appartment
• John Butler Trio were in town for a gig
  
• Polina passed numerous German exams
• Riding a bicycle on the footpath gets Polina a hefty 5€ fine
  
• Polina gave up working life and became a beer swilling student
• She also invented new words
• I climbed an apple tree in the middle of Berlin, the apples were tasty too...
• Xavier Rudd rocked Berlin again
• The Cat Empire really rocked Berlin, enough to send me off to the ear doc for a couple of weeks worth of infusions to get my hearing back, mmmmm 101db
  
• Struggled with should we stay in Berlin, go back to Melbourne or do something totally new
  
• We did finally buy an apartment
• I built Polina a desk
• It snowed
• Polina went Blond!
• Polina hurt herself pulling out unwanted parts of our new Wohnung. I hurt myself more - in fact it still hurts... :-(
• We had our first party in the new place, while it was still a building site
  

• Greg and Tanya were up from Down Under
• Anya was here
• Some of my mum's family were here for a visit from Frankfurt
• Julia brought us chilled champagne from London, and helped to consume it too ;-)
• Denya spent a few drunken days with us
• Polina's mum was over for a bit on her way down under
  
• Julia was over with her mum for a weekend
• Polina's dad was here for too short a time
• Polina's Granny was over to bake for us in 40 degree heat
• My cousin Meike was here from Frankfurt
• Olya passed through on her way to meet up with Denya
• Polina's mum and brother Gleb were here for a bit too
• Daniel (another ex Ibmer) living in London and his GF Baiba from Riga met up in Berlin
• My aunt Maria took time out from her world cruising to say hello in Berlin
• HEAPS of people made it to our part of the world to see in 2008

So that was a brief summary of a short year where we didn't really do all that much - yeah right!
Hope 2007 was good for everyone else too...
