Happy new year to everyone! Baksheesh!!!
My parents are here from Novosibirsk and the five of us celebrated new year together, which was wonderful. I attempted Julia Child's goose recipe with plum and foie gras (duck liver) on a goose that we named Fedya (for no particular reason). Fedya turned out to be one pretty tasty goose, although we all decided that he was rather small... or we just ate too much too quickly. Mum and I also made Napoleon cake, and despite it being a bit too much on the rich side, it was still fairly edible.
We all dressed up and even Tim paraded in a little tail-coat :)
Even before midnight people outside already started on fireworks and at midnight the sky over Berlin just lit up for at least 30 minutes. Although the photos don't make it justice, here are some anyway...
