This was actually Alex and Jirka's second marriage to each other! The odd thing in Germany is that if you want to get married in a church, you still have to have been married in a wedding registry office beforehand, they'd already done the registry thing over a year ago.
Another thing that's very different from Australian weddings is that in the evening at the dinner there's usually lots of presentations and games. Not just the parents with a speech but friends singing, games where the bride and groom have to compete against each other or where they have to prove their knowledge about the guests. All in good fun I must add.
Alex and Jirka picked a day with wonderful weather and seemed to have a great time. We wish them all the best for their life together.
